I have suddenly forgotten the name of that compressor that has more or less
been created for use with Rickenbackers, I think it was something with the
word jangly. There have been many mentionings of it in this newsgroup, not
lately though.

Yeah, well I guess a lot of compressors can do it more or less, but he was
looking for the jangle word. And the clips are really good. For that
matter, if you set it right an Orange Squeezer is pretty good too.

You must be mistaken. The only thing I can think to do with a Ric and a
Boss comp is to toss the comp in the air, and see how far I can hit it
with the Ric.

No, no. I'M the one who's mistaken. I CAN think of other things:

* launch the pedal, arrow-like, from the strings.
* catapult the pedal by bending the neck.
* use the guitar as a shovel, dig a hole, and bury the comp.
* tie an axe-head to the headstock, and try to split the comp.

Oh, I'm just kidding around (but I really dislike Boss comps).

Not a fan of the Boss comps either. My bud has one and I tried it
against my Carl Martin comp. Yuck. Yeesh. Really dirtys the
sound up. The Carl Martin doesn't touch the sound.

I gotta say that I just went back and listened to the tones on that site,
and I don't really know why I don't buy one. I hear that Byrds tone and I'm
off in space somewhere. Guess I'd have to buy a 12 string too.

Looks pretty cool, actually. Too bad it's a kit, and they don't show
schematics or parts lists. I might even be tempted if you could order
online.... Seems like they took a cue from the Barber Tone Press. Hmmm.

Didn't know what to look for once I got to the magazines' main site. I
found the compressor article, but couldn't find the PDF file of the
article. The article on the website is a jpeg, and isn't large enough
to read.

Appreciate it. When I clicked it the other day I somehow got the archive
instead and couldn't find the article.

I have just discovered that this thread has grown since I last checked it.
It was the Janglebox I was looking for but apparently it's hard to find them
outside of US. Anyway I have many pedals and among them also the Boss CS2
(if thatŽs the blue one) and the Carl Martin Compressor which by the way is
brilliant in most cases. I do however think that it's impossible to find a
compressor for all situations and the Janglebox just seemed to have
something different to offer than the competition but I guess I have to wait
until it finds european distribution, thanks for the help anyway.

austria.

I think it's cheaper to order the Janglebox from the US as long as the
exchange rate Euro - Dollar is so favorable for Europeans.

"it's no problem for Europeans to order the janglebox from the USA."

Ok I wrote to the Janglebox guy a couple of times and he didn't mail me back
so I just concluded that he probably didn't sell outside of the US.

"I think it's cheaper to order the Janglebox from the US as long as the

I don't think so because another 25-30 % will be added to the cost in taxes
so the 250 ? seem to be the cheapest way. I certainly isn't cheap, is it
really worth it.

HKC, you may have forgotten, but I have two e-mails in my "Sent" box
that indicate that I replied to you on 12/20/04 and 12/22/04 answering
your questions about shipping outside the U.S.

We ship directly to most anywhere in the world. I've sent JangleBoxes
throughout Europe, as well as Japan, Australia, New Zealand. We just
updated our shopping cart to accommodate customers outside the U.S. Our
sole European dealer so far is Rics R Us in the UK
(http://www.ricsrus.com).

JangleBox recently received an Editors' Pick award from Guitar Player
magazine. You can see it here:

Last I knew, it was a boutique pedal, and had no dsitribution beyond the
maker's direct order.
