Ye-up. But you almost don't see him.

I'm looking at the guy up on the back riser playing another Gibson,
wondering what you're smokin' and then for just a second the other guy
steps out from behind King & there it is.

Okay, I see it. So I decided maybe this site might have some Byrds
videos, and they do. The only one they don't have is the infamous Ed
Sullivan lip sync video.

Looks like most of these were posted within the last couple of months.

Mr. Tamborine Man LIVE - Gene Clark playing along on Fender 12 string

I feel a whole lot better live not lipsync on Shindig (there's also a
Hullabaloo version that I think is a lip sync, so I didn't include it)

Chimes of Freedom LIVE!

The Times They Are A-Changin(Hullaballo1966) - another stupid video
production, but a good live performance.

8MH - pre-hubble astrophotography overlaid not very good video, but I
think it's actually a live performance. You hardly see McGuinn though.

8MH - German Beat Club extended jam 1972 Clarence White on Tele, McGuinn
actually sets his Ric down and leaves the stage near the end when it
goes into a bass solo. You get several good looks at one of Roger's
modified/custom Rics.

So You Wanna Be a Rock N Roll Star Beat Club German TV 1972.

A really weird one ... Michael Landon butchers You were on my mind,
singing to Jackie DeShannon ... The Byrds come in as spectators in the
background near the end - don't play, no instruments

Love it, sounded quite live, unless that was a backing track of the original
without the vocals on it..c

live not lipsync
Neat collection -- what some of those look like is live vocals over
pre-recorded instrumental backing, which was done on some of those shows
(you can see that the guitars aren't even plugged in in come of 'em).

One would hope there is better footage out there. This stuff is rather
dated (to put it mildly) and some of it is just awful. Is there any
footage of the Crosby Byrds doing a live concert somewhere (other than
at Monterey)?

It's not live. It's lip-synched and it comes from a Swedish TV show.

I know it isn't going to happen, but I wish that McGuinn-Crosby-Hillman
would get together one more time for an HBO special or something
similar. There is so little documentation of the Byrds live that, even
if it's not the same exactly, you'd still be able to see something
really special and historic in a setting that did it justice. No tour,
no new record, just one night of Byrds music by the real thing.

So does Crosby apparently (according to the recent interview). Hillman
is touring Europe with his partner Herb Peterson presently. His show is
a stunner, even if you're not a bluegrass Bakersfield country music
fan. 8 Miles High on mandolin!

Heard 8MH bluegrass style played on the radio last Saturday night.
Didn't get to stay in the car to hear who it was, but checking the
playlist now, it was Chris Hillman from "The Other Side".
