Hi everyone. I have a maple glo 450. The code on the guitar indicates
it was made in 1980 when i put it into the rick website. I have a few
questions about this guitar that have bothered me since i got it a
couple of years ago. First, when i was opening up the scratch plate to
clean it, i discovered that the inside of the guitar is very roughly
carved indeed. Its like somebody hacked out the whole into the body
with a chisel. It seems a little surprising at least for a guitar of
this kind. Is this normal? Has anybody ever experienced this before?
I'm pretty sure its a genuine rickenbacker, everything else seems to be
legit.
Also, the neck is a glue in type, when i always seem to hear this
guitar described as a neck through body design.
I dont think this guitar is fake, but these things have bothered me a
little.
One more thing, the scratchplate is coming away from the guitar a
little as the wood the screws went into has broken off so there's
nothing for them to go into now. Any suggestions how this could be
repaired? i dont really want to drill new holes.
hope somebody can help me
thanks
