Vintage Tone Selector on 4003 bass

Hello out there,

Just wondering if anyone has received the new 4003 Ric bass with the
Vintage Tone Selector button option. If so, any opinions on this new
feature? I have a 4003 that I bought last year and was wondering if
this new feature might be available as a mod for the earlier 4003 (if
it's worth having).

Thanks,
Scrinine

While we are on the subject, I have a 4001CS and I would like to know if I
can upgrade the bass with one of these tone selectors.....

Anyone know how Rickenbacker is handling that aspect?

Thanks,
Kevin

I would be very careful modifying a Ric, they tend become valuable when kept
original ao always keep the original parts safe. Anyway why would you want
to add a vintage tone to a 4001, they are the vintage tone I would think.

Thanks, good point. I have installed a hipshot bridge (which I really
like) but that is a mod that is reversable.

This is one of those limited edition signiture series bass guitars (CS
stands for Chris Squire)

Anyway...it was made in 1991. When did they stop adding the circuit? How
can I check to see if my bass has this feature already? If it doesnt, then
it would make sense to add it as Im sure Squiresrickenbacker does have it.
