In 1973 my Rickenbacker was stolen. I wasn't a player but a wanna be.
Now that I finally have a few bucks, I would like to get another one
like it but don't really know what model it was. What I remember about
it was that it had a checkerboard (black and white) binding - not sure
if it was only on the back or both sides. The was one "slash" hole
with cream colored binding. Did not have the "R" tailpiece. Had wedge
inlays. When I bought it the guy said it was a "stereo lead guitar".
There were two p/u. The headpiece was blond and brown laminated wood.
It did not have the pointy tips on the cutaways; more rounded.
6-string. I don't see it on the Rickenbacker website. Came in a grey
tolex-looking case. Mine had a Gibson Humbucker in place of the
original at the bridge but I know that's not a factor. Thanks for any
help!
