Rickenbacker Anime

So I just watched the first two episodes of an anime series entitled
FLCL the premise of which I can't even begin to explain because it's the
strangest thing I've ever seen. Anyway, one of the main characters
carries around a blue Rickenbacker bass guitar that she uses as a
weapon. You can see the bass on the drawing on the cover of the DVD:
